Adam has been doing this work for over a decade and has served as the developmental editor for dozens of books that have now been published. Editing is a true passion of his - he always find that there is something magical about helping another artist bring their work to its full potential. Adam is available on a freelance basis and offers a variety of editing services. He will consider manuscripts of all types (fiction of all genres, non-fiction, poetry).

  • This is your old-fashioned, industry-standard developmental edit. Adam will read your book and provide large-scale suggestions for improvements. You’ll get a 2-page letter with his feedback and then meet via Zoom to further discuss (one meeting included).

    $850 - $1500

  • This is a far more collaborative and comprehensive approach than your typical dev edit, but it’s what Adam & his authors usually prefer. You’ll meet with Adam weekly to discuss 1-2 chapters of your book in detail, with notes on that material provided by Adam ahead of time. Also includes guidance about next steps for getting your work published.

    $2000 - $4000

  • Inspired by Rick Rubin’s approach as a music producer and informed by Adam’s experiences with previous authors, this is an intensive approach to really connecting with an author’s creative potential and helping shape their work to its highest form. You’ll decide on a mutually agreeable time & place to meet with Adam for ~3 days, retreat-style. The goal is to quickly build a rapport with one another, in an environment that helps you feel relaxed & focused, and then go all-in editing your entire manuscript together on the spot. Includes guidance about next steps for publication & marketing your book.

    $3000 - $5000 plus your travel & lodging expenses (Adam covers his own)
